Our Kaupapa
All functions and activities carried out on the Marae or by the Board of Trustees must fit the purpose and aims stated in this trust deed. The ojectives of the trust are as follows:
To establish a modern, state of the art Marae facility that will benefit and support the community of Whangamatā and surrounding areas by:
Hosting tangihanga to respectfully honor the passing of people in our community.
Providing a Noho Marae experience for both Manuhiri and Whangamatā locals.
Hosting groups, activities and services that align with our vision and mission.
Hosting community events that are aligned with our vision and mission.
To reclaim, develop and strengthen Te Ao Māori through promotion of and education in:
Kapa Haka
Powhiri
Whaikorero
Te Reo Māori
Toi Māori
Adhering to Māori Tikanga of the Marae
To promote health, wellbeing & education in our community
By offering services that align with our vision and mission, and by partnering with other entities offering social services in Whangamatā.
